A new VR Assassin's Creed game was recently revealed during the Ubisoft Forward showcase. It looks incredible, and might even be enough by itself to justify the cost of a VR headset. Check out the gameplay from AC Nexus below.
There's a lot more that a VR game depends on for success than merely the technical limitations of the headset. Activities that might ordinarily be fun in video games might simply be dull in VR. So devs need to trial and experiment, with everyone looking for a genius concept like Superhot.
Will Assassin's Creed be as conducive to good VR gameplay as that masterpiece? It's too early to tell, but the trailer looks incredibly promising.
- AC has some wild but also pretty dope novels, including our favorite: Assassin's Creed in the Vietnam War!

At the recent Ubisoft Forward showcase we saw a trailer for the upcoming VR Assassin's Creed game: AC Nexus. We think it looks awesome enough to sell VR headsets (don't be put off by Apple's absurd price point, the Meta Quest is substantially cheaper).
Before we get ahead of ourselves let's take a look:
Incredible, right? It could be a little disorientating, but that's a small price to pay to become Ezio. Now the catch is: That was a CGI trailer because the game hasn't actually been developed yet. But as a proof of concept, we're sold.
That's really all we know about the game so far, we don't have a release date even, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we hear more.
If you missed the Ubisoft Showcase, you'll be pleased to know Assassin's Creed: Mirage (the next AC game) is looking really strong.
We've been getting some very intriguing reveals from Ubisoft recently:
