Are you having troubles finding the dowry from Benryn and Mirileth in Baldur's Gate 3? We have the answers on how to get it and where it's hiding.
As you explore Baldur's Gate 3, you'll come across a ruined location called Waukeen's Rest. You begin to save survivors, and one of them is named Benyrn.
As he is still mourning his late wife, Mirilieth, he asks you if you have the time to search for the important dowry his wife had hidden away. When you find it, you can decide whether to hold onto it or share some with this man (after he's experienced the worst day of his life).
Baldur's Gate 3: Getting The Dowry (Easiest Method)
1. Find Benryn (Strength Check)
In order to free Benryn, you need to go to the main burning building, pass a Strength check and head inside the house. Karlach is best suited for this task, as she has a natural fire resistance and a lot of strength.
You find him laying under a beam, free him and he'll accompany you. Break down another door, and he will find his late wife on the ground. You can either ask him about the dowry or, if you already grabbed it, give it to him straight away.
In order to retrieve the dowry, you have two options. You can either use the ability Speak with Dead and talk to Mirileth herself, or pass the Perception check to get the location.
2. A Use Speak with Dead On Mirileth
In order to speak with her, you need either the spell "Speak with Dead" or the Amulet "Lost Voices", which grants you an ability to talk to the dead.
You can find the Amulet during your expedition in the Overgrown Ruins. Next to the NPC Withers sarcophagus you'll find the Amulet, take it with you, he has no use for it.
Use either the Spell or the Amulet on Mirilieth and ask her the question "Where did you hide your valuables". She will tell you that the dowry can be found inside a haystack in the barn, behind the building you're in now.
You'll find a chest after climbing down the ladder and inside the dowry is waiting for you. Now it's up to you if you keep it or bring it back to Benyrn make his day a little brighter.
3. Use A Perception Check
If you can't speak with the Dead, you need the Perception check in order to retrieve the dowry. Just go to the barn using the coordinates X:-100, Y:619.
Passing the check, lets you find the chest inside the haystack with the golden ring sitting inside. If you haven't rescued Benryn from his misery, you need to do it now, before the ring has any meaning to you, or just sell it.
Handing the dowry over completeS the "Rescue the Trapped Man" quest and you can now move on with the next task at hand. Being nice every now and then isn't that bad, right?... Right?
