The HyperX Cloud II Wireless Headset is one of the best gaming headsets on the market, I would even call it the best one. Here's everything you need to know before you buy this gem.
The amount of gaming headsets on the market at this point is insane. Even if you don't want to spend any money at all, a quick Amazon search will make you find something that you'll like. A $10 headset? Sure, what could go wrong?
Well, not much. I thought so too when I ordered mine because I wasn't in the mood to spend money on anything else. But see, you feel those $10. The quality just ain't what it's supposed to be, and you're stuck with a cable longer than your... spaghetti.
Anyway, been there done that, so I'm here to tell you that it's time to stop. Stop wearing that semi-crappy headset on your head and move on to the best one on the market right now: the HyperX Cloud II Wireless.
HyperX Cloud II Wireless Review
Overview
HyperX, Razer, Logitech... they all come to mind when talking about gaming gear. But HyperX just hits different with their sleek design. Take me, I'm a woman (if you click off now, big L). I can't wear Logitech because it makes me look like I have horns, so I was always looking for something simpler. That's where the HyperX Cloud II Wireless comes into play.
Before we go into the details, here's a quick overview of everything you need to know about the HyperX Cloud II Wireless:
- Wireless (who would have thought)
- Can be paired with PC, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch
- Detachable microphone
- Comfortable around the ears
- $140
HyperX Cloud II Wireless Fit
The Cloud II Wireless is extremely comfortable and can be adjusted depending on the size of your head. Whatever head shape you have, this headset will look so good on you. Of course, the way it looks isn't exactly the priority, it has to be comfortable, and it is. But it's comfortable in style, so win-win.
HyperX Cloud II Wireless Quality
Let me be very upfront: these are no BEATS headphones and to be quite honest with you, at first I was a little meh about the sound. But that's just because I also use headphones for music and there's a huge difference between that and the Cloud II Wireless.
The thing is, it does what it's supposed to: it's great for gaming, but if you're someone who spends a lot of time in the menu and just listens to the soundtrack of your favorite game, you might be a little disappointed. Nevertheless, for gaming, this headset is great. If you're a shooter kinda guy, then you will hear the footsteps of your enemies approaching. If you're a singleplayer kinda guy, you will enjoy riding through the wilderness with birds chirping in the background.
HyperX Cloud II Wireless Platforms
One thing I always struggled with was finding a headset that I could use for all the platforms I'm on. That's why I used to have a headset with cable, simply so that I could plug it in everywhere and wouldn't have to worry about whether the headset will even pair with my platform.
The HyperX Cloud II Wireless, however, is so easy to pair with everything that I own that I shed some tears of happiness. You own a PlayStation? Just plug that USB stick that comes with the headset into your USB port of your console, turn on your headset, and you're good to go. Nintendo Switch? Works. PC? Of course, duh.
Only Xbox users will not find happiness with this, but then again... why would you play on an Xbox... guess you're a Halo fan.
HyperX Cloud II Wireless Price
Like I said above, you'll be paying around $140 (depending on where you live) for this baby. There are cheaper HyperX headsets, that's for sure, but you will not find any in that price range that are as good as the Cloud II Wireless. I know it's always easier to reach for the $80 headset, especially if you're short on cash, but trust me: save up and get yourself the real deal.
It'll last you so long, and you'll be walking around the house with your headset on without having to worry about taking your controller with you.
And that's it. All in all, it's one of the greatest headsets I've ever used. My boyfriend uses a Logitech one and paid more than me, but even he said that the HyperX Cloud II Wireless was the exact same quality and that the fit was fantastic. So why pay more when you can just get yourself the Cloud II Wireless?
Thanks to HyperX for sending us the Cloud II Wireless!
