After the massive layoffs at Bungie, it's somewhat ironic the next season in Destiny 2 is called "Season of the Wish". Many talented people needed to go, and it's also the start of a new cycle for how the devs will deliver the next updates. But everything must come to an end someday, right?

In Season of the Wish, you'll be brought back to The Dreaming City and will have the chance to witness the conclusion of the 15th Wish, a plotline that already started in the Forsaken expansion five years ago.

Possible Story Content

Destiny 2 Savathun the Witch

After finishing the required seasonal story "The Bladed Path", you'll see Savathun come back to life, only for her to meet her end once more — ouch. But the lore reveals even more: She's resurrected again and leaves her Ghost Immaru with the Guardians. And there's even more!

By solving the "Imbaru Engine" puzzle, you'll uncover one of Destiny 2's biggest secrets yet: an Ahamkara egg untouched by the influence of the Taken! The last known Ahamkara, Riven, was defeated by the Vanguard in the "The Last Wish" raid, and the other Ahamkara egg fell victim to the corruption of the Taken.

Lore Behind Ahamkara

Ahamkara are wish granting dragons that were almost made extinct by humanity. Riven was the only dragon left, but with the new egg, who knows what will happen next..?

During "The Last Wish" raid we saw the Wishing Wall, which contains 15 wishes in total. The community already deciphered 14 wishes, but the 15th one has always been missing. In a cutscene, the Guardian notices that Savathun's wings resemble the Wishing Wall, hinting that she might hold the key to the elusive 15th Wish...

It's likely that "Season of the Wish" will revolve around the Ahamkara eggs and the final wish that is still a mystery to everyone. Could it open a portal to the Traveler, setting the stage for the ultimate battle against The Witness? There's still much we don't know, but this season promises an exciting finale!
