Diablo 4 features a number of in-game currencies (and we're not just talking about Platinum for the shop). One of these currencies is called Murmuring Obols.
Murmuring Obols can be used at the "Purveyor of Curiosities" vendor in town. You pay Murmuring Obols for a type of item, and then you get one of those items in exchange. But unlike other vendors, when you buy something from the Purveyor of Curiosities you don't know exactly how good the item will be. You get a randomly generated version of the item, and so you need to rely on RNG to hope that you get the stats you want.
Loot gambling, basically. Sounds fun right? But first you'll need to find those Murmuring Obols. Here's how.

Where Can You Find Murmuring Obols?
So far we've only been able to get Murmuring Obols by completing public events. You will come across these randomly in the world. By completing a public event you're guaranteed 50 Obols, but you can also earn an additional 35 Obols if you're able to achieve the Mastery rating for the public event.
