EA Studio Split: The End of EA Games
Electronic Arts (EA) is one of the biggest game developers and publishers in the world today. Big franchises, like the FIFA and Madden series or Apex Legends, made billions in the last couple of years and gathered a dedicated community behind them. Now the company announced the reorganization of their studios into two different organizations.

EA Games won't exist anymore, at least in the form we always knew it in. In a message to the public and to the employees, Electronic Arts CEO Andre Wilson announced the founding of EA Entertainment. This studio will be the successor of the EA Games brand, while EA Sports will exist as a separate studio now.
Today, we are announcing the next step of our strategy by aligning our studios into two organizations that report to me — EA Entertainment and EA SPORTS. This evolution of our company continues to empower our studio leaders with more creative ownership and financial accountability to make faster and more insightful decisions around development and go to market strategies
As the name already says, will EA Sports focus be on the big sports franchises of Electronic Arts. At the moment, EA has the NFL Madden, NHL and FIFA (now EA Sports FC) series under their banner. The new Studio EA Entertainment will focus on the other big IPs in EA's possession like Apex Legends, the Battlefield franchise or the Star Wars games.
So, EA Games is officially gone, and the future will show how effective this split will be and which influence on the company and their games it will have.
