Fans have been waiting for news about Elden Ring's DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, and it seems like we can hope for a release of the DLC soon!
After Bandai Namco announced the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring at the beginning of the year, in February 2023, fans have been hyped to get their hands on the first full add-on for the game.
Since its announcement, Bandai Namco has been relatively silent regarding news about the DLC, which has left many fans speculating about the DLC's release and also possible content.
Instead, Bandai Namco had seemingly only been focusing on the releases of their other major titles such as Armored Core VI , Little Nightmares 3 and Tekken 8 . But, even in the midst of their tightly packed release schedule, they've finally given us some new hope for a prompt release of Elden Ring 's DLC Shadow of the Erdtree!
Elden Ring DLC: New Interview Sparks Hope For Prompt Release
Thanks to a recent interview, done by Games Industry.biz, with the Bandai Namco Europe CEO Arnaud Muller, we have gotten a tiny glimmer of hope for the release of Elden Ring's DLC. While Arnaud Muller didn't go into great detail about the DLC, he mentioned that Shadow of the Erdtree would be released "soon".
Of course, this doesn't really offer us a ton of information, but we can estimate when the DLC might be released.
Previously, thanks to a leak, we thought Elden Ring's DLC might be released in April 2024. But, with this new information from Bandai Namco's CEO, it's possible that the DLC might be released before that.
Some speculate that Shadow of the Erdtree might be released in February 2024, around the two-year anniversary of Elden Ring's release. Since the DLC was also announced during the one-year celebration of the game, in February 2023, it would only seem fitting that Bandai Namco would release something grand to celebrate the two-year anniversary.
Plus, with other long-awaited games like Persona 3 Reload and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth set to release in February 2024, Bandai Namco might just try to steal the spotlight from other companies and game releases.
What do you think? Will Elden Ring's DLC Shadow of the Erdtree come out within the next six months, or do you think it will take even longer than that?
