Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Mind Blowing Trailer And Release Window
So the trailer is really made to make us fans riot. I still haven't recovered from it! We got story beats, gameplay and a look at our beloved Heroes and villain.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will release Early 2024 on 2 discs. If that doesn't scream large game!

Of course the story is still relatively vague, but we got a look at a scene, which takes place in Cosmo Canyon, so if the game follows the original we should get the Gold Saucer! We are definitely getting the dramatic Nibelheim flashback and in the background of some fight scenes, you can spot Junon.
The two big story things in the trailer are first off the opening with Barrett, Tifa, Aerith and RedXIII seemingly dead and the ending speech by my favorite villain Sephiroth. For the former, I believe, it takes place in the alternate timeline with Zack, as it fits in with the secret ending in Crisis Core Reunion.
Sephiroth's speech is probably much simpler than some might think. After all, he likes to confuse Cloud and separate him from his teammates. So the goal here could be that Sephiroth wants to convince our hero that Tifa is actually Jenova. By telling him Tifa is dead and explaining Jenova's shapeshifting, it alludes to this. Meanwhile, Tifa is doubting Cloud, so we got mistrust and no communication. Sephiroth really said: Gatekeep, Gaslight, Girlboss, huh?
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Gameplay Reveal
So, what gameplay did the trailer show? Mostly it was some cool fighting moves and walking. Such is to be expected from a first trailer, but we can still take some interesting things from it.
First off, we seem to be getting some new mechanic in the game. Beneath every characters' health are 5 dots. These could be a new resource you get from fighting, and maybe you can do some kind of new attack with it?

During my second watch, I noticed some cool new attacks. Our heroes will now be able to do team attacks. In the trailer, you can see Aerith and Tifa doing a special attack by working together. It looks really cool, and I wonder if everyone will have one with all other members.
Now, the most important gameplay reveal was of course...CHOCOBOS! Our feathered friends are back and going strong! We can ride them around and look how cute they are! Hopefully Square Enix will let us pet them.
In conclusion, the trailer was packed full and got us all hyped! But now we need to wait once again and first enjoy Final Fantasy 16, when it comes out in only a few weeks.
