Souls fans around the world are eagerly awaiting news about FromSoftware's new title Elden Ring. After the Souls series and Bloodborne paved the way for a popular genre and have a huge fanbase, the expectations for Elden Ring are pretty high. Thanks to a new leak, we now get another glimpse of Elden Ring's gameplay, aside from the official trailer. Until now, only selected media representatives had been able to take a look at the game, and real gameplay scenes were not yet visible in the official material. Now a short clip has surfaced that gives us a glimpse of Elden Ring's gameplay.

Elden Ring Gameplay Leak

The leaked clip originally came from the YouTube channel 'Games Anime and more', but has since been deleted. Of course, it has long since made it to various Reddits and Twitter. Here you can see the 27 seconds of Elden Ring gameplay:

The clip is very short and unspectacular at first glance, but we can still draw some info from it. In the video, a knight with shield and sword is shown hopping over a rocky slope and scaring up two eagles. The camera also gives a good view of the Lands Between, the world of Elden Ring. But what can be deduced from this?

First of all, it seems to be possible to jump by the press of a button, which was always a bit of a hassle in the Souls games. The game world also looks extremely expansive and less restrictive than in past FromSoftware games, and there seems to be a compass at the top of the screen for orientation this time – another feature that was not present in Dark Souls or Bloodborne. The music is also striking. In the leaked clip, soothing background music plays all the time – previous From Software titles only used music during boss fights or at special locations. The new background music kind of reminds us of games like Skyrim or Morrowind. The two eagles could also be a hint that there will be other wildlife in Elden Ring and that we might be able to interact with them as well. We're thinking of open-world hunting quests or something similar.

Before some of you are starting to cry because the graphics don't look that great – if we can trust the source, the clip is gameplay that was recorded on an Xbox One. Elden Ring should look much better on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
