As now officially confirmed by The Game Awards: Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy 16, will be coming to the show "for a very special live presentation"! Hype.
While we're all excited about the Final Fantasy 9 remake, and for the Final Fantasy 7 remake to come to Xbox, let's not forget that the franchise is still putting out new games. Indeed, Final Fantasy 16 is probably further along in development than many of you might have thought. So far along, in fact, that we expect to see a trailer and possibly even a release date for FF16 at the 2022 Game Awards!
Final Fantasy 16 At The Game Awards
You'll be pleased to know this isn't a spurious leak from Twitter, this is direct from TGA themselves. As they announced just hours ago, Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy 16, will be coming to the show "for a very special live presentation".
Next Thursday, #TheGameAwards is humbled to welcome Naoki Yoshida, producer of @finalfantasyxvi, to the show for a very special live presentation! Watch the free global livestream at https://t.co/u70K4kSdGZ starting at 7:30p ET/4:30p PT pic.twitter.com/Gc6Ix4BADF

A very special live presentation obviously means some kind of trailer or reveal, but as we said up top, we also think a release date is likely. This is because the devs of FF16 have previously stated we would get a release date by the end of 2022, and TGA seems like the best opportunity to do so. If not at this show, we can't really think how else they would reveal it.
