Code: To Jin Yong might just be the next Ghost of Tsushima mixed with Final Fantasy action. Here's everything you need to know about it.
All of you who have been hoping for some Ghost of Tsushima 2 news or are desperately awaiting news about the next Final Fantasy or about another remake of the franchise... this ain't it. BUT it's something like it.
Code: To Jin Yong was revealed during the Spark 2022 conference, and it got some features that highly remind us of these two named games above... and make us think that this game might just be the next big thing.
What Is Code: To Jin Yong?
Code: To Jin Yong is a lot more than just another game. It's an adaptation of wuxia novels. No, that's not a sickness, it's a form of fantasy martial arts. The author of these novels is called Jin Yong, hence, the title. The game even goes as far as to include some of the heroes from Yong's novels. Reminds us a lot of The Witcher, right?
Here are a couple of interesting facts about the game that might convince you even more that this game will be the next big hit:
- Open-world action game
- Powered on Unreal Engine 5
- Martial arts combat
- The studio worked on PUBG Mobile (so they know how to make a successful game)
It sounds fantastic. And it looks even better. The developers were kind enough to share a first preview at combat and graphics, and I want to emphasize, once again, that this game really is the perfect mixture of Ghost of Tsushima-style graphic and Final Fantasy action combat. I love it!
What's The Code: To Jin Yong Release Date?
Unfortunately, Code: To Jin Yong doesn't have a release date yet, but in a press release of the developers, it was said that the game would release in the near future. It's... not much. It's actually nothing. I mean, look at Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Been waiting for news on this game for nearly eight years, and what have we gotten? The name. Wow.
Which Platforms Will Code: To Jin Yong Release?
Just like with the release date, no official info has been released about which platforms Code: To Jin Yong will release on, but that same press release as above stated that the game would release globally. Globally could mean worldwide (given that some games are only released in certain countries – especially when we're talking about a Chinese-made game), or it could mean on all platforms.
We will just have to wait and see. For now, all we can do is rewatch that amazing gameplay trailer and hope that we get to play it soon!
