Insiders have now confirmed that Gears of War will be the next Microsoft franchise that is getting the "Master Chief Collection" treatment.
Before Halo Infinite released, one of the best things Microsoft did in a long time, was the Master Chief Collection. This collection included Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST Campaign, and Halo 4. A must-have for every Halo fan, or actually, anyone who owns an Xbox or PC.
A few months ago, we heard rumors about another Microsoft franchise, that could get the "Master Chief Collection treatment". Thanks to an insider, we now know that this franchise is Gears of War, and we might get a collection like that in this year!
Will We Get A Gears of War Collection?
Like with many Microsoft related leaks, this one comes from the XboxEra Podcast. In the most recent episode, co-host Nick 'Shpeshal_Nick' Baker, who started the original rumor, said this:
There is another franchise that is getting the Master Chief collection type treatment. I am of the believe, that that is coming this year. I'm not gonna say it, but everyone has guessed it.
Yes, everyone has guessed it, and they basically confirm it indirectly: It's Gears of War. They even named that section of the episode "Oh, Gears Collection?" and joke about how Gears, Halo and Forza are still the only Microsoft titles coming out. Hey, it might hurt but it's also true...
Baker goes on to say, that he expects this collection to be announced at Microsoft's games showcase this summer. That would make sense and go well with a release date in this summer.
The Gears of War Collection would probably contain all games in the franchise, so Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, Gears of War 4, Gears of War 5 and maybe even the spin-offs Gears of War: Judgment and Gears Tactics. The first two of which will most likely be included in remastered versions.
I'd definitely play Gears Collection, it would be a really smart move by Microsoft. Having that entire series in one nice package on Game Pass would be brilliant.
