Genshin Impact will release it's newest four-star Lynette on August 16 with the arrival of version 4.0. You will be able to get this character for completely free, but is she worth building and what teams does she fit?
Genshin Impact's Lynette is coming soon and will be free for everyone to get. Naturally, we ask ourselves the question: Is she worth building, and how do you play her? Here's everything you need to know!
Genshin Impact Lynette: All Abilities And How To Play
Lynette is a pretty useful four star Anemo support with some similarity to Yelan. Since she is a support, her main focus lies on her abilities, especially her burst, since it works off-field.
Normal Attack: "Rapid Ritesword"
Her normal attack can perform up to 4 rapid strikes, her charged attack does two of those at one time. When she plunges, she additionally deals some AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental Skill: "Enigmatic Feint"
Lynette can enter a high speeds state called "Pilfering Shadow", similar to Yelan, when you hold her E. She can then apply Shadowsign to one nearby opponent. If you want to end the skill prematurely, just press E again. This will mark an opponent with "Enigma Thrust" and deal damage, which also happens if you just normally press on the skill rather than holding it for a few seconds.
When the Enigma Thrust hits an opponent, she will get back 25% of her max HP, but then lose 6% of her current HP every second for a duration of 4 seconds. Being lighting fast is of course also very useful when it comes to exploring. Her Arkhe alignment is Ousia.
Elemental Burst: "Magic Trick: Astonishing Shift"
Her Elemental Burst summons a giant AoE Anemo Bogglecat Box, which continuously taunts nearby opponents. When it comes in touch with any element except for Geo and Dendro, the box absorbs it and additionally fires shots with the element that it came in contact with. The box can only absorb one element per duration.
Passive Talents
Sophisticated Synergy
Within 10s after using her Burst, depending on how many elemental users are in the party, everyone will get an ATK increase, by 8% for one member, 12% for two, 16% for three and 20% for the entire team.
Props Positively Prepped (Unlocks at Ascension Phase 4)
After the Bogglecat Box of her Burst performs its Elemental Conversion, Magic Trick: Astonishing Shift will deal 15% more damage until the special attack ends.
Loci-Based Mnemonics
Great for exploring! She can show the nearby locations of Recovery Orbs on the mini-map. She also increases Aquatic Stamina and HP gained from getting in touch with Orbs by 25%.
Best Artifact Sets
The best artifact set for Lynette is just the plain four-piece Viridescent Venerer, since she mainly focuses on Anemo damage. The set will give you a 15% increase in Anemo DMG, increase Swirl DMG by +60% and decrease the enemies Elemental RES in whatever Element gets swirled.
We don't recommend building her as a DPS, but if you do, try the Desert Pavilion Chronicle four-piece set, it adds a 15% Anemo DMG bonus and gives you a Charged Attack bonus; when it hits your opponent, the character that has the set will get a Normal Attack Speed Increase by 10%. Also, Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG will increase by 40% for 15s.
Best Weapon
The best weapon for Lynette is the five-star weapon Freedom-Sworn, aka an Anemo swirler's best friend. It grants you an EM bonus of 198 at Level 90 and a DMG increase by 10%. If the sword user triggers any kind of elemental reaction, they gain a Sigil of Rebellion, which can be triggered every 0.5s, even when the character is off-field. When you get two of those Sigils all party members gain a 12s buff with Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack DMG being increased by 16% and a 20% ATK increase. The effect has a 20s cooldown.
Naturally, not everyone feels the same kind of commitment to a four-star support, so alternative options are a good idea.

Alternative Options
Sacrifical Sword: This weapon is available through the weapon banner. It grants Energy Recharge 61.3% at Level 90 and can reduce Skill cooldown by 40% once every 30 seconds.Amenoma Kageuchi: This Inazuman Weapon is great if you have the crafting billet for it! It grants its user a 55.1% ATK buff at Level 90. With every skill you play, your character gains one stack of Succession Seed, which canbe triggered every 5 seconds. You can collect as many of these Seeds as you want and when you play your Burst, and you get 7.5 Energy for each stack you got.
3-star: Dark Iron Sword: This should be treated like an emergency option only. Upon causing an Overloaded, Superconduct, Electro-Charged, Quicken, Aggrevate, Hyperbloom or an Electro-infused Swirl reaction, ATK is increased by 20% for 12s, it also adds an 141 increase to Elemental Mastery at Level 90.
Possible Team Comps
Having all of this in mind, who can you pair Lynette best with? Well, we have seen a trend in the last few months of Hoyo releasing new characters in pairs, where a five star is being supported best by their own tailored four star. See where I am going with this? Lynette is obviously working best when paired with her brother Lyney.
Other than that, she is just a fantastic Anemo support, so putting her in any team where some Elemental Reactions are needed is a good plan. You could pair her up with Ayato, Diluc, Hu Tao... the opportunities are endless! The only characters that won't fit her are Geo based or just more Physical types like Eula.
Pair her up with another Anemo character, and you'll get additional Elemental Resonance that will decrease your Stamina consumption by 15% and increase your Movement speed by 10%. It also shortens all cooldowns by 5%.
We wish you lots of fun playing Lynette!
