In God of War Ragnarök , you can craft new armor and weapon upgrades, just like in God of War 2018. The system works similarly, but some things have changed in the sequel. Crafting has been expanded and there are a lot of things to learn and consider. Here are some tips you should know about crafting in Ragnarök.

God of War Crafting & Armor Guide: Tips & Tricks

There's a lot going on with the crafting in GoW Ragnarök. So much armor, so many materials, such wow. Follow our tips here to keep a clear head among all of this confusion and to get the most out of crafting.

Transmog

Ragnarök introduced Transmog, thank God. It's always fairly nitpicky, but I personally don't enjoy seeing Kratos in full on armor. His chest needs to be free, for the immersion. And now we can finally enjoy having all the juicy stats from full-on armor with that bare-ass Spartan chest.

To Transmog a piece of armor, you need to fully level it up to level 9. As soon as you reached that, you can make that piece of armor look like any other. Neat! You can even do this in the armor tab of the menu, you don't have to go to Brok and Sindri's shop. Double neat!

Smash Pots & Debris For Loot

To upgrade your armor and to craft new pieces, you need materials. And a lot of them. To get a sturdy supply, pay attention to your surroundings. Every level is chock-full of unassuming pots and crates. Make sure you destroy every single one of these, as they usually have some Hacksilver. You should also look up, as you often have buckets and pots hanging from ceilings. Take 'em down with your axe, as they often contain rare materials as well.

You should also pay attention when you're exploring the hub areas of Ragnarök. When you're on a boat or a sled, the world will be full of debris and glowing circles, which also yield Hacksilver and rare materials. Don't miss out on them!

Try Out Different Sets Of Armor

You get a lot of look in Ragnarök, and every piece of armor has a different effect. You either find new armor in the levels, or you can get some made by Brok and Sindri. Make sure you assemble entire sets and try out different ones. If you have a full set of armor (chest, wrist and waist), the attached effect stacks, which can make for some powerful buffs. But don't get too cozy with one set: maybe you prefer the armor, that gives you strength and rage bonuses, or the one that boosts vitality and healing. Don't knock it till you try it.

Sell Old Armor

If you have your favorite set (or multiple sets), then it's time to get rid of the old junk. This is one of the best ways to get Hacksilver in the game. Brok and Sindri quickly start offering you quite a lot for your armor, so get rid of that stuff!

Buy Resources ASAP

If you follow the above advice, you should be pretty loaded. Use that 'oly 'ollar to buy rare resources at the shop. The dwarves will eventually start selling you materials like Dwarven Steal or Monster Bones. But they don't always have the stock available, so take advantage of it whenever you can.
