Greedfall was an amazing RPG, that felt right at home for anyone that's into Western open-world RPGs. Now, it's finally getting a sequel.
Greedfall 1 was one of those games where people go 'The Best RPG you never played'. And... that description is right on the nose. Greedfall sold 2 million copies, which is nothing to scoff at, but considering that it's right up there with modern open-world RPGs, and considering how antsy people are for Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls... you would think the game would've sold more.
Greedfall 2 Is Coming
Still, 2 million sold copies was enough to ensure Greedfall is being turned into a franchise, and now we are getting a sequel, with Greedfall 2 due for release in 2024, coming to PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
Story-wise, this one will take place three years before the first game, and you will control a Teer Fradee native, uprooted from his/her home, and taken to the continent of Gacane, which has been ravaged by war and the Malichor plague.
Of course, the devs had to bundle in a boring corporate message in their official statement, which I don't want to hide from you:
We are very excited to reveal GreedFall 2 to everyone, the new game from Spiders. Many fans across the world were begging for this sequel, and we are delighted to be publishing this new game that these fans are sure to love. We also hope it will appeal to new players and all fans of role-playing games, great stories, action, and fantasy.
