We all know that GTA 6 is being developed by Rockstar right now. Even though they haven't officially announced anything yet, it is the most obvious open secret in the video game industry right now. Obviously they are making a new one of those! Why else would we report on every single titbit of possible information? Now, it will definitely still be some time, until GTA 6 finally comes out. But it might not take quite as long as you think. An analyst recently suggested that GTA 6 might be slated for a release in 2023 or 2024! Let's take a look at what this actually means...

GTA 6 Release Date Could Be Sooner Than You Think

I promise, we're not pulling this out of nowhere. Take-Two, the publisher under which Rockstar operates, recently acquired Zynga for a very large amount of money. In the announcement they projected a "growth rate of 14% through FY2024". As Axios reported, stock analysts at the research company Jeffries have looked at this projection and taken some interesting theories out of it...

According to these analysts, there are "only a handful of titles" that could make Take-Two reach these numbers... and one of those could be a Rockstar game. As Take-Two's fiscal year 2024 runs from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, the suggestion is that GTA 6 would be released sometime in that period.

This would correspond well with a recent leak, which suggested that GTA 6 could be already revealed during this year. But also this is just speculation at this point, so take it with a grain of salt. We had multiple reports and pretty credible leaks, that suggest a release date even further off than Early 2024. But this bit of analysis is pretty sound so it would make sense to expect a release date for GTA 6 in Late 2023 or Early 2024.
