Halo Infinite's closed playtesting has been going for a few months and fans are desperate to know what the game has to offer. This year's Halo, Halo Infinite, is looking like the kind of return to form that Call of Duty experienced with Modern Warfare in 2019 - a much-needed shot in the arm. The marketing material is hitting all the right nostalgic pressure points that remind us of the golden era for Halo, but what about new features? They would just remake the trilogy (again) if all they wanted was to play on former glories.

Well, one feature we've come to expect in almost every shooter of the past few years is a Battle Royale – or at least some form of it. But would that even work in Halo? Will Halo Infinite have Battle Royale? And will they feel the pressure to include it either way?

Will Halo Infinite Get A Battle Royale?

It seems like it will yes, although nothing official has confirmed this, a telling voice line from the game was discovered by data miners. The voice is, well, it's the unforgettable voice of the Halo announcer, and the recording is of him using a phrase that very clearly suggests a Battle Royale is coming. Just have a listen:

That's pretty cut and dry for us. I mean, seriously. Why would that exist if Halo Infinite wasn't getting a Battle Royale? What a Halo Infinite Battle Royale would look like is now the more interesting question, but beyond that, we don't have any more answers yet.

When Is Halo Infinite Battle Royale Released?

Halo Infinite will be released on December 8, but it is unknown when a potential Halo Infinite Battle Royale would be released. We imagine that the Battle Royale mode would be released after the game's official release, possibly as an additional feature like Forge or Firefight. We do know that it will not get released on December 8, though, because 343 have confirmed that Halo Infinite will only get its Campaign and free-to-play multiplayer at launch.
