Is Hogwarts Legacy Coming To PC?

Warner Brother and Portkey Games are launching Hogwarts Legacy in 2022. However, there are lingering questions about the PC version of this game. For instance, we don’t know which GPUs and CPUs are officially supported for Hogwarts Legacy. The only thing confirmed is the requirement for a 64-Bit processor and operating system, which means Windows 10 or 11 will be needed. Time to upgrade your OS if you haven’t already.

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world RPG that focuses on an immersive experience for players. Everyone will have the opportunity to create their witch or wizard while attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Along the way, friends will be made, and enemies will be revealed as an unknown story involving archaic magic is told.

Everyone will start by customizing their character and choosing their dormitory with the Sorting Hat, which will place you in one of four houses across Hogwarts. But how will the Sorting Hat know which house is best? By asking players various questions to learn about their personality. Depending on the answers given, you’ll be placed into one of the following houses:

• Gryffindor
• Hufflepuff
• Ravenclaw
• Slytherin

You’ll get to practice magic within these dormitories as housemates and friends are met. It’ll be our job to become close with these friends, as eventually, they become your in-game companion. We know of three companies to date, which includes:

• Nankai Onia – This woman acts with courage against the dark forces at Hogwarts
• Poppy Sweeting – Housed in Hufflepuff, Poppy is incredibly kind and caring
• Sebastian Seller – This charismatic rebel will be the closest individual to Draco Malfoy

It’s noted that Hogwarts Legacy will have players attend five classes to learn the basics of combat and exploration. You won’t be capable of learning magical spells or moving forward in the game unless these magical spells are learned. This means you’ll want to attend the following classes:

• Defense Against the Dark Arts
• Herbology
• Potions
• Charms
• Flight

Fortunately, we won’t need to attend these classes for a prolonged period. Eventually, we’ll be greeted to the open-world environment where dark wizards and monstrous animals wait. Along the way, terrifying dungeons and passageways will be unveiled. We will need to complete various challenges and puzzles to ensure that these dungeons or corridors are cleaned. For instance, utilizing the Lumos spell will enable you to light your path in any direction. Then there’s Wingardium Leviosa, which allows players to move objects around the open-world environment.

Through spells of this nature, we’ll complete the campaign and storyline in Hogwarts Legacy. But enough about the magical aspect of Hogwarts Legacy, let’s find out what this game has to offer PC players.

When Is Hogwarts Legacy Coming To The PC?

Portkey Games and Warner Brothers have confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy is coming to the PC in 2022. It will be launched onto the Microsoft Store and Steam, meaning multiple purchase options are available.

Unfortunately, we don’t know the official date when Hogwarts Legacy will be launched. But Portkey Games have promised it will arrive by the holiday season of 2022, meaning that December is the latest month available for release.

Which PC Features Will Hogwarts Legacy Have?

Portkey Games hasn’t identified which PC features will be incorporated into Hogwarts Legacy. It’s somewhat surprising, considering the game is getting closer to launch. However, inside sources have suggested that the following features will be available for this next-generation RPG.

• 120 FPS
• RTX Lighting
• Xbox Cloud Saves
• Steam Cloud Saves

Anyone switching between an Xbox and a PC will favor the inclusion of cloud saves. It will mean that saved files are stored through the cloud on your Xbox account. You could play the same save file from your PC or Xbox. However, there is the possibility that syncing issues could be experienced. Fortunately, this problem is rarely noticed or reported.

Otherwise, the inclusion of RTX Lighting and 120FPS is guaranteed for Hogwarts Legacy. Portkey Games would be significantly behind the times if they removed these features.

Is Hogwarts Legacy Coming To The Steam Deck?

As previously mentioned, Hogwarts Legacy is being published on the Steam Store. This means it will be available for the Steam Deck. However, will this upcoming game run smoothly on the Steam Deck? We’re confident it will.

The Steam Deck has managed to play games like Elden Ring and Lego Star Wars, which are both considered next-generation titles. It would make sense that Hogwarts Legacy would equally run on the Steam Deck. But there’s a chance that the FPS and graphics will need to be adjusted, as overheating can be experienced otherwise.
