The Hogwarts Legacy Unforgivable Curses allow everyone to fulfill their dreams of going full evil wizard in the Harry Potter RPG. Here's how you can unlock the three forbidden spells Avada Kedavra, Crucio & Imperio.
Harry Potter is usually all about being a goody two shoes, but we all secretly always wanted to dabble more in the dark arts. With Hogwarts Legacy, you can. The Unforgivable Curses Avada Kedavra, Crucio & Imperio are among the many spells in the game, allowing you to be a proper evil wizard.
But obviously, you won't just stumble across these powerful spells. You need to unlock them first, and we will show you how you do that.
Hogwarts Legacy Unforgivable Curses: How To Get Avada Kedavra, Crucio & Imperio
Unlocking the dark arts in Hogwarts Legacy is fairly simple on paper: you need to follow and complete Sebastian Sallow's quests. He is one of the different companions in Hogwarts Legacy, and he's obviously a Slytherin. Who else would be all about dark magic?
Sebastian offers you three quests, with each one giving you a different spell: "In the Shadow of the Study", "In the Shadow of Time", and "In the Shadow of the Relic". I sense a pattern here... anyway, we'll show you what you need to do for each quest.
In The Shadow of the Study – Crucio
This first one is pretty easy. You unlock it by doing a few favors for Seb and reaching level 16. You will then be led into Slytherin’s Scriptorium, where you find a door that can only be opened with an Unforgivable Curse. Here, you will be taught how to cast Crucio. Now you can use the spell whenever you want to curse enemies and inflict damage over time.
In the Shadow of Time – Imperio
After you learned Crucio, keep progressing through Hogwarts Legacy's main quests and eventually you'll get a message from Sebastian. This time, he will do what every normal student does, and take you to explore some catacombs. Lovely! At some point during your excursion, you will be attacked by Ominis Gaunt. During this encounter, you learn Imperio. Congrats, you have two of the three Unforgivable Curses in your arsenal.
In the Shadow of the Relic – Avada Kedavra
Crucio, Imperio, Schmaperio – who cares. We all want to get the big one, the ultimate bad spell: Avada Kedavra. And yes, the death spell can be learned in Hogwarts Legacy. You'll need to go on your third adventure with Sallow, which is unlocked by reaching level 27.
And it's fairly simple, at least mechanically. At the end of this quest, good ol' Seb performs the deadly curse in front of you, and offers to teach it to you. Not creepy at all! If you allow him to bestow upon you this naughtiest of all knowledge, you unlock Avada Kedavra. And yes, this spell does indeed instantly kill enemies. It's really powerful, so you'll have to wait a while to get it. But if you want to be an evil bastard, it's more than worth it.
