Version 1.6 of Honkai Star Rail is finally live and next to some amazing new characters, we also have a pretty special event coming up as well! The Critter Pick event was already leaked a few weeks ago and caused much anticipation amongst the entire community! If you want to know what the event is all about and how you can take part in it, just keep reading the following article!
As we all know, Ruan Mei is coming to visit us at Herta's Space Station at the launch of version 1.6! Next to her, she also brings one of her most recent research projects along, called the Lifeform Oven. (This HAS to be the cutest science project ever!)
If you want to find out how the Critter Pick event works, when it starts and what kind of rewards you are able to get, you should stay tuned since we will cover all of that in the article below!
Honkai Star Rail: Critter Pick Event Guide
In an unexpected turn of events, Ruan Mei's creations started to develop their very own social civilization, and someone has to take care of them now. — And of course, this certain someone is us! Let's check out how the Lifeform Oven works and what Ruan Mei's little creature are up to this time around!
Honkai Star Rail: Event Start & Duration
The Critter Pick event starts with the launch of version 1.6 of Honkai Star Rail on December 27, 2023, and will end on February 5, 2024. After that, you won’t receive any more limited time rewards, however, you will still be able to use the Lifeform Oven and take care of the tiny creatures!
How can it look so peaceful yet concerned at the same time? …
Before you can start the event, you have to complete a little pre-quest called “When the Stars of Ingenuity Shine”. Make sure you got that one done in order to head straight into the fun part!
Honkai Star Rail: Critter Pick Guide
During the Critter Pick event, you have to take responsibility and nurture your very own desired creations via combination and pairing in the Lifeform Oven. But be careful, sometimes strange mutations can occur during said process, leading to completely new traits or even rare creatures!
After you have finished the pre-quest, you will find yourself in a new area of Herta's Space station. It's quite dark in here, but you will find a new friend real soon! After fighting your way through the newly entered zone, you will be able to use the Lifeform Oven.
Here, you can find an overview over your current research level, you can enter the research handbook and your already formed creations. But what can you even do here?
1. Create and nurture Critters
The first thing you have to do in the Lifeform Oven, is to create new and more Critter Lifeforms and take good care of them, by choosing and fulfilling the right nurturing goals.
2. Collect all Critter Types
Saving the Space Station is fun and all, but the important part about this event is the collection aspect! There are many different types of Critters who have all sorts of personality traits and color schemes for you to explore! The goal is to collect all types of critters by experimenting with the various traits and specifications. If you are lucky, you can even get some super rare ones!
3. Combine Critters
Next to creating new Critters straight from scratch, you can also try to combine already existing little lifeforms and experiment with different combinations! Who knows how they turn out?
That actually sounds like a lot of fun if you ask me!
Honkai Star Rail: Critter Pick Rewards
