Immortals Fenyx Rising Is Getting A Hawaiian-Themed Spin-Off

Immortals Fenyx Rising is one of the last Ubisoft games left with an untarnished reputation. And that's probably why it's getting a sequel. This news has just been leaked, and in this article, we'll go through everything we've heard so far about the sequel.

Okay, okay, it's not strictly Hawaiian. According to this leak,it's going to be a Polynesian-themed sequel, but when someone says Polynesia, we're thinking of Hawaii first, not Bora Bora or Tahiti. Either way, we're heading to the tropical islands of the Pacific to take on a new pantheon of gods and monsters. And that's awesome news because if you haven't played the original game, we can assure you it was fantastic. As we wrote in our review:

Thanks to picturesque comic graphics, and successful design of the world, even after 20 hours of play it's still a pleasure to fly over the islands and let the mythology take you over. But there’s something unbelievably positive about Immortals Fenyx Rising, which doesn’t go as deep into the battles, character development or story. There is hardly any other game that offers a more relaxed and comfortable open world.

Sounds good? Then let's get into the sequel!

The Polynesian-Themed Sequel To Immortals Fenyx Rising

As first shared by insider Jeff Grubb on his podcast (at around the 01:07 mark), Immortals Fenyx Rising will have a Polynesian-themed sequel, and the game is already in early development. Grubb even went on to suggest a possible release window for the game:

Ubisoft Quebec‘s sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising is not a proper sequel. It’s more of a spin-off. The production name of the game is called Oxygen. It’s based on Hawaiian Polynesian culture this time around. It still has a God narrator. They try to still be visually stylised but it’s less of a copy of Breath of the Wild. It’s in early pre-production, seen some concept art, it’s coming maybe 2025.

So, there you have it ladies and gents. A quick bit of gaming gossip to set your weekend off in the right way!

If you're looking for exotic locations, and you don't want to wait until 2025, then why not try out this puppy?
