Rockstar confirmed that the GTA Trilogy Remaster will be releasing on mobile - both on iOS and Android. More details below.
Update, November 23, 2021
The first picture for what the GTA Trilogy remaster might look like on mobile was leaked. The Twitter user found the mobile settings in the GTA Trilogy remaster files, but as you can see from the caption of the tweet, it might not 100% look like this (though, I will say if it does look like this, we'd all be impressed).
This is how you can approximately expect the VC remaster to look like on mobile, if they don't butcher it even further. I found the mobile settings in one of the files: pic.twitter.com/NKVvsVhLGD

Rockstar just released its first trailer for the GTA Trilogy remaster, which you can watch here. Along with the trailer, they released a statement on their official blog, which includes the following:
"In addition, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be coming to iOS and Android in the first half of 2022."
GTA Trilogy Remaster: The Definitive Edition Is Coming to Mobile
I repeat: Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is coming to iOS and Android. Wow. Honestly, this is not surprising, but it is still shocking. If you're not familiar, the GTA Trilogy Definitive Remaster will run on Unreal Engine 4, and is coming to all the systems, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. How will the game manage to even push these big systems, while still running on mobile? Will console and PC players seriously have to compromise, or will mobile phones get a separate edition? For now, we can only speculate, since we have no further information than what we already gave you.
Since it seems to be a safe bet that the GTA Trilogy Remaster is releasing in November, it is interesting to point out that the mobile version will release in 2022. That means it might just be a port, or a different version, running on a different engine, with entirely different graphics. Who knows, maybe the mobile version is even being handled by a different development team within Rockstar, or they outsourced it, while simultaneously working on the console and PC version. Whatever the case, I would certainly welcome the mobile version being different from the others. After all, I don't think it's in anybody's interest to have the console and PC version be less than it could be, just to cater to mobile devices – not after all this time, that would not go over well with GTA fans.
October 22 marks the 20th anniversary of GTA III, so it is very likely that we will get more information then. Also, finally seeing the GTA Trilogy remaster in action will give us a better idea of what to expect, and seeing the graphics will make it clear whether mobile devices can handle it or not.
