With the Lies of P alpha, we got a first look at the gameplay and holy crap… it’s way more badass than we expected.
South Korea is just on another level with their entertainment lately. K/DA, Squid Game, a Korean Witcher RPG… Lies of P is just another prime example that Korean dominance is real (except in the LoL finals, but we won’t talk about that, or I’ll cry).
In case you’ve never heard of Lies of P: it’s a Dark Souls, action RPG clone that is based on, you guessed it from the title, Pinocchio. We now got first gameplay scenes and let me tell you, this game looks so goddamn good that it’s a shame we’ll have to wait quite some more time before getting it:
When Will Lies of P Release?
Lies of P will release in 2023 on PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, so all you last-gen users will have some more time to get your hands on a next-gen or a good PC because this game looks so good that you will need something that can withstand high graphical settings.
As for the story, this is the premise of the game:
As the puppet mechanoid Pinocchio, you will wind your way through the streets of a ruined city, crafting weapons from the materials you find in the world, and interacting with the remaining few who manage to survive in this pre-industrial hellscape. The more you lie, the more human you become, with all the advantages and disadvantages that it entails.
It might just look like another Dark Souls (hence us saying clone), but the story is so fascinating and different that we honestly can’t wait for its release and to find out more details.
Once we hear more about Lies of P, we will update you guys. Until then, you should check out Crimson Desert and DokeV, two South Korean games that will also dominate the gaming market in the future and will – hopefully – release before Lies of P to keep you guys company till then.
