Like a Dragon 8: Screenshots Highlight The Gorgeous New Map

With Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, RGG Studio is saying its goodbyes to Kamurocho and Yokohama for the time being. The latest screenshots reveal just how gorgeous the new map in Honolulu is, though.

Everyone who is into the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise knows, that most of the games take place in the same cities or districts over and over again, with new games not only reusing the already crafted assets, but always adding some new flavor to them.

The best example is Kamurocho. This is where everything began in Yakuza 0, and we've revisited this place many times. It's even featured in the spin-off series Judgment. Over time, the district has expanded several times but never lost its nostalgic charm. It feels like home every time you step back into it...

But it's about time we move on. And luckily, RyuGaGotoku is doing just that with Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth!

Moving the scenario to Hawaii, specifically Honolulu City, is a breath of fresh air in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. Not only is it the largest city the developers have included so far, but it also looks simply gorgeous.

The devs added the latest information and screenshots about Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth to their website. Seeing places like Chinatown, Waikiki Town or Aloha Beach almost overflowing with life, I simply cannot wait to jump into my next Like a Dragon journey with Ichiban at its center, while saying goodbye to Kiryu as the main character for good.

New to the franchise? This is the perfect play order:

If you want to play Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on launch, then playing Yakuza: Like A Dragon is mandatory, as Infinite Wealth is the direct sequel to it, but you will miss the story behind Kiryu.

If you want to get into the entire series, this is the best play order:

  • Yakuza 0
  • Yakuza Kiwami 1
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2
  • Yakuza 3
  • Yakuza 4
