Mortal Kombat 1 will be the next installment of the popular fighting game series. Yes, the last one was MK11, so you might wonder why the next one is called MK1? Well, Mortal Kombat 1 will basically restart the series in a new Mortal Kombat universe, created by fire god Liu Kang. It is supposed to introduce new fighting mechanics, game modes and of course fatalities.

Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on September 19, 2023 and can already be pre-ordered, so you might wonder if your PC can run the new game. Read on and find out!

Hey, good news, Mortal Kombat 1 doesn't really need the greatest hardware. Even for the recommended specs, you only need a GTX 1080 Ti, that came out in 2017. For minimum specs, you can still run a GTX 980 from 2014. So if your PC isn't already over 10 years old or you at least upgraded your graphics card one in the last five years, your PC should absolutely be able to run Mortal Kombat 1 without any issues at all.

Finally, a new game that doesn't need a $3000 PC to run without turning down graphics and still get stutters all over the place. Let's hope the game is well optimized at launch and not a disaster like so many other PC ports this year.
