Rumor has it that a Nintendo Direct will take place this week. Here's what you need to know, and what type of reveals we're expecting.
You know how it is with announcements these days: They aways drop out of nowhere, because - seemingly - that's the best way to get traction nowadays. Otherwise, I can't explain why so many developers go with surprise announcements rather than the marketing team that's weighing down their payroll. Well... whatever the case, this surprise announcement revealed that the next Nintendo Direct will take place this week.
Nintendo Direct Coming This Week
The news was broken via Jeff Grubb, as transcribed by VGC:
At this point, I'm sick of talking about it, I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing about it, we just want them to announce it. When will they do that? It seems like early next week, and then the Direct itself could happen earlier in the week than it normally does. They usually hold Directs on Thursdays, but [this week] Thursday is in the heart of Tokyo Game Show, so they need to do it earlier. It could happen on Tuesday, which would be weird.
As far as expectations go, we're expecting more news on Zelda and Metroid. Not just because that's our deepest wish come true, but also because it would be logical: A remaster of the OG Metroid Prime was already announced, and we are still expecting news on the ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.
