Industry Expert Gives Opinion On Realistic Price And Release Window For The Nintendo Switch 2
The folks over at gamesindustry.biz have talked to several analysts within the industry to try to predict trends and developments within the industry for 2024.
One of these analysts, Dr. Serkan Toto, the CEO of Kantan Games, gave his take on what he expects the Nintendo Switch 2 to look like, a realistic price for the successor of Nintendo's most recent console and a potential release window.
In his own words, the industry expert believes that “the next hardware will drop next year for $400”. That's a fair assessment, considering that ever since the Switch launched back in 2017, its price has been around $300 .
He expects the new console to be more of a “Pro” model, rather than a revolutionary new system, and argues that this enhanced new version will probably release some time in 2024.
Regarding games, we can probably expect another price increase, which according to him could go all the way up to $70. For comparison, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be purchased for around $50 at the moment.
Although this is just the opinion of one expert, we believe his estimates to be realistic and well-founded.
