It feels like an age since Overwatch originally launched, and how innovative and exciting it first was. But with all the other games that grew up around it (not to mention some horrific scandals at the Blizzard HQ) it was beginning to feel like this series fell off. So can they win us all back with Overwatch 2? Can this franchise reach new heights of popularity? We'll find out soon enough, as the Overwatch 2 beta is about to launch. Unfortunately for Blizzard, though, the beta client has already been datamined so thoroughly that we do actually know quite a bit about Overwatch 2. Here's what we've discovered so far.

What Did Dataminers Discover About Overwatch 2?

The main things that dataminers have discovered in Overwatch 2 so far is the existence of Battle Pass, a "clubs" system and references to PvE progression. Here's exactly what the dataminers claimed to have found:

It isn't much to go on, but it's hype nonetheless. PvE could be fantastic for a game like Overwatch to go all in on. We've seen glimpses here and there, but a ground-up, dedicated story-mode could be a thing of beauty.

How Can You Join The Overwatch 2 Beta?

You can join the Overwatch 2 PVP beta yourself by signing up on their website here. At the moment, you can only sign up and download the client, but you'll be able to try the game out and enter the beta on April 26.

And in the not too distant future, you'll get to play the full release of Overwatch 2. But if you're a fan of hero-shooters, why not play the next best thing while you wait?
