The summer of gaming is not quite here, but we're getting more and more news about upcoming shows. We recently heard about the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, now Sony has announced a new State of Play for this week. Here's everything you need to know.

State of Play Start Time & Date

As confirmed by the official blog post , Sony's next State of Play event will take place on Thursday, April 13 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BST / 11pm CEST. The show is expected to be about 20 minutes long, provided there are no serious delays.

Sony State Of Play: Focus On Final Fantasy 16

The show will focus on one game: Final Fantasy 16. That's a bit of a shame, but the Action-RPG is shaping up to be an absolute banger, so I'm not too sad about it. The game is coming out on June 22, so this will most likely be the last showing ahead of release.

If you're excited for FF16 but haven't pre-ordered yet, you can do so here!

From the moment Final Fantasy XVI debuted in our 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase, fans around the world have eagerly awaited details on the game’s dark fantasy setting, the powerful Eikons and the Dominants who house them, and the flashy battle system teased in those early trailers. We’re happy to announce this week’s State of Play will dive into all this and more.

State of Play Livestream

You can watch the show via PlayStation's official Twitch channel, or on their official YouTube channel. And in addition to those official channels, Sony welcomes co-streamers. So you could always watch alongside one of your favorite streamers.
