In the ongoing FTC vs Microsoft trial, a court document has revealed the supposed release date and price of the PS5 slim. It's coming soon, but it isn't cheap.

We've heard a ton of rumors about the PS5 Slim, but a lot of them have been nonsense. However, as with all the other amazing stories that have emerged from the FTC vs. Microsoft trial, when we hear a "leak" in a courtroom we can get a lot more excited than when we see it on Twitter.

The PS5 Slim Was Just Revealed By Microsoft

Without getting too bogged down in all the legal details, here's an over-simplified version of what happened. Microsoft were trying to persuade the judge that Sony will continue to hold market dominance over the coming years, and so they laid out their prediction for the release and price of the PS5 Slim. Microsoft were very specific, and claimed that the PS5 Slim will be released in late-2023 for $399.

Here is a screenshot of the official court documents that presented this claim:

Now, as you can probably guess, Microsoft know far, far more about Sony than any of the spurious leakers on Twitter. And what's more, they aren't going to lie about the PS5 Slim when they're under oath. So we think this is entirely true.

The price point is disappointing of course, but it was predictable. However, the release date is seriously exciting. Will you be getting a PS5 Slim this year? Or have Xbox persuaded you with their next masterpiece?

A PS5 Slim could be perfect for PC players, who are no doubt sick of ports like this:
