We've got great Red Dead news for you: the game just hit a new player count peak, and we're getting new content for Christmas!
Many of us suspected that support for Red Dead 2 would slowly decline given the upcoming release of GTA 6. And that's not entirely wrong, but Rockstar are treating us to some free Christmas gifts!
This is a great way to celebrate the recent player-peak record set on Steam (66,492 on November 27), and hopefully we get more promos and events like this far into the future.
Free Christmas Gifts Coming To Red Dead Redemption 2
In Red Dead Redemption 2 you can get free gifts this Christmas, and all you need to do is login to the game on the right date. That's literally it. Login, and you'll be rewarded with free items. Perfect!
Here are the dates and items you can earn for logging in:
- December 6 to 12: A free coat.
- December 13 to 19: 2,000 Bounty Hunter Role XP.
- December 20 to 26: 3 Gold Bars, a red version of the Leavitt Jacket (requires completion of Moonshiner Sale), and a green version of the Morales Vest (requires you to have reached wave 7 in A Merry Call to Arms).
- December 27 to January 2: Free Emote, 50% off selected weapons at Gus' Store and $100 (when you complete a Role Challenge).
And as well as all that stuff you can get for free, the following new clothes items will also be available throughout December:
- Grayshott Pants (Male) or Prairie Skirt (Female)
- Sobol Hat
- Collar Overshirt (Male) or Huerta Shirtwaist (Female)
- Crutchfield Suspenders
- Neckerchief
