Leaks point towards Silent Hill getting a VR upgrade. Here's everything you need to know.
The rumor originated on Reddit, but has since been picked up by many outlets - including us, right here, right now: Silent Hill is about to get a revival, and it looks like it will be a VR game.
Silent Hill Revival Coming
So, why are we even speculating? Because Konami updated the trademark for the Silent Hill franchise. That in itself doesn't mean all that much, because, naturally, any developer would eventually update the trademark to one of their key games. What's more intriguing is the fact that a report from October 2021 already suggested that Konami is reviving Metal Gear, Castlevania and Silent Hill. The Metal Gear Solid rumors have since been confirmed, so that gives the whole leak a lot more credibility.
As for the VR part of the leak: Along with the Silent Hill trademark, Konami trademarked the term 'virtual reality headset'. Again, we can look to the Metal Gear Solid rumors for confirmation: Konami has stated that they want to remake MGS1 as a VR game that ushers in a new age of VR gameplay. If they are truly trying to push the VR agenda with MGS, then it would only make sense for them to give Silent Hill the same treatment.
