New Game Plus is unfortunately missing in Spider-Man 2 at launch. While this is definitely disappointing, Insomniac thankfully came out to confirm that the popular mode will be added to the game shortly after release.
Spider-Man 2 is finally here, and everyone is incredibly hyped to experience the next chapter in the story of Peter Parker and Miles Morales. In a game like this, full of collectibles, unlockables, abilities and more, a New Game Plus mode is particularly popular among players. What’s better than going back in after completing a game, but this time around you're like ten times stronger?
Unfortunately, it was revealed shortly before launch that Spider-Man 2 would miss this popular feature upon release. However, Insomniac quickly confirmed that New Game Plus will be in Spider-Man 2, just not at launch.
Spider-Man 2: New Game Plus Missing At Launch, Added In Upcoming Update
Instead, the feature will be added to the game shortly after release, as part of an update. This was clarified by James Stevenson, director of community and marketing, on Twitter/X. According to Stevenson, fans won’t have to wait too long for this addition, as it is supposed to come “before the end of the year”,

With New Game Plus, a feature to replay missions is supposed to be added as well. This happened for the first game, Marvel's Spider-Man in 2018, as well. Back then, the New Game Plus mode was only available after version 1.07 came out.
How exactly New Game Plus will be integrated is not clear yet. The thought of going to town on some poor goons in New York City with fully upgraded abilities already sounds super fun, though.
