The lead engine programmer for Insomniac Games is claiming that they've created some kind of exciting new dialogue technology for their upcoming games. We could see the new tech very soon, as it is likely to feature in Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.
Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine are currently in development at Insomniac Games. And thankfully for the studio, there's a ton of hype around both of these titles because the previous Spider-Man games were so great. But the studio has now made us even more excited by teasing a brand-new type of technology they'll be using going forward.
- These games are still a few months away, why not play the latest Spider-Man until then?
Insomniac Games Create New Dialogue Technology
Insomniac Games have created some kind of exciting new dialogue technology, although we don't know what it does yet.
Lead engine programmer Elan Ruskin said the following during an official live-stream on the Insomniac Games Twitch channel:
Also, there's some very cool dialogue technology coming in the next game.
Maybe it's going to be an AI that will voice all the dialogue? Maybe the players can modulate or completely change the voice? Who knows.
And there you have it, everything we know so far about the new technology (sorry we know so little). But, even if we don't have the full details, does new dialogue technology sound exciting to you? Maybe we could see the tech used in other games with strong dialogue, like this year's Game of the Year?
Would Spider-Man 2 make it onto this list for you?
