Mods are an extremely big part of Bethesda games, so obviously people are wondering if they'll be a part of Starfield as well. We have the answers here!
Everyone and their mom have used mods for a Bethesda game at some point. It is an integral part of their RPGs like Skyrim, Oblivion or Fallout and with their next big-hitter, Starfield, on the way, people have obviously been wondering whether they could use mods in that game as well. We have the answer here...
Does Starfield Have Mods?
Come on... the answer is obviously yes! This was revealed by none other than Todd Howard, living legend and Creative Director of Starfield. The face of Bethesda went on Reddit for an AMA and one of the curious fans obviously asked about mods. It's a Bethesda game, there has to be mod support, right? Yes, there is. This is what Mr. Howard said exactly:
Our plan [is to] have full mod support like our previous games. Our modding community has been with us for 20 years. We love what they do and hope to see more make a career out of it.
Ah yes, the somewhat charming businessman we know and love. But yes, the head honcho just confirmed that Starfield will have mods. And that's fantastic news. Bethesda games are legendary for their mod communities, and every game has thousands of amazing mods. Of course they do, someone has to fix those bugs after all...
Considering that Starfield is shaping up to be Bethesda's biggest game to date, it would honestly be weird not to have mod support in it. So this is not a huge surprise, but still nice to hear. I can't wait to see what people will come up with for Starfield once it released... can you imagine all the cool stuff people will make for this? New ships, guns, space suits. New planets? New aliens? Anything is imaginable with the amazing mod community, to be honest.
Before I bounce out by giving a shout-out to my favorite member of the Fallout: New Vegas community, I want to recommend you again to check out that AMA. Todd Howard is, as usual, a bit hyperbolic and a bit shy on actually giving us concrete information on the game. But there were some good nuggets coming out of this, like more details on the character creator and much more. So definitely have a look.
And lest we forget... shout out to Sinitar.
