We've just heard bad news regarding Starfield: it's going to be locked at 30 frames-per-second on Xbox, even on the Series X. And the fans have made their opinion clear: 30 FPS is simply not good enough for a AAA-game in 2023.
Starfield is the next big title from Bethesda, and while the devs insist it isn't just "Skyrim in space", that's what a lot of fans are hoping for. Sadly, a lot of fans are also hoping for a solid technical performance...
- Still interested, even at 30 FPS? Then you'll need an Xbox . Luckily, the Series S is still only $250!
Starfield Will Be Locked At 30 FPS
As revealed during the most recent Xbox Showcase, Starfield is limited to 30 frames-per-second on Xbox. And no, we aren't just talking about the Series S, the Series X will also be capped at 30 FPS.
Here is Todd Howard, head of Bethesda, trying to explain the decision:

This news has been met with an understandably negative response from most fans. Obviously, as a single-player RPG and not a competitive shooter, the frame-rate is less significant here than it might be in other games. But it's nevertheless disappointing for 2023.
Starfield will be released on September 6 on Xbox Series X|S & PC.
