Right now and for a limited time, you can get a new co-op game for free in the Steam shop that is rated about 88 percent positive right now, based on about 5,500 votes. Especially fans of puzzle / riddle games should take a look at it, even more if you like to play co-op.

If you like puzzle games, you might have already come along We Were Here. We Were Here is an online co-op puzzle-adventure gaming series that has got several sequels following the first game from 2017. You and your teammate must work together to solve intricate puzzles using only walkie-talkies to communicate, so both of you need a functional microphone.

The game's core lies in its communication challenges, requiring you and your teammate to describe and relay information accurately to progress. Besides the teamwork-driven gameplay, We Were Here is often praised for its atmospheric settings.

In the latest We Were Here game, "The FriendShip", you'll explore a forgotten theme park. You can get the game for free on Steam until October 13, 2023 – after that, it will get a price tag.

If for whatever reason you want to avoid Steam, you can alternatively get the game on the following platforms as well:

  • Epic Games Store
  • PlayStation
  • Xbox (here you can just play a 10 hours trial, however, this is better than nothing)

In case you first want to see a little bit more about the game, take a look at the trailer from developer and publisher Total Mayhem Games:

If you're a fan of Indie games, we recommend monitoring the weekly freebie rotation in the Epic Games Store. Every week, you can get one or two games or at least DLCs for free that you would normally have to pay fore – and sometimes even a AAA game is among the lineup.
