Below Zero was released back in 2021, and the devs over at Unknown Worlds shared news about the third entry in their Subnautica series. Among other things, they revealed their early access plans for Subnautica 2, and they cleared up some confusion about the "game as a service" statement.
The Subnautica franchise is a very popular series of underwater survival and exploration games developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment.
They started with Subnautica in 2014, then Subnautica: Below Zero in 2021, and now we got new information about the third game, which will be Subnautica 2.
Subnautica 2 Release Date: Early Access Not In 2024
The developers revealed that Subnautica 2 will not be entering Early Access in 2024, but promised that more information will be coming later this year. They also explained:
"We plan to continually update the game for many years to come, just like the previous two Subnautica games. Think our Early Access update model, expanded. No season passes. No battle passes. No subscription. The game is not multiplayer-focused. Co-op will be an entirely optional way to play the game. You’ll be able to enjoy the game as a single-player."
In summary:1 Early Access is not intended for release in 2024, but we plan to share a lot more information later this year!

A third part of Subnautica was first leaked in 2023, and at the time rumors were suggesting a 2025 release. We expect a full release in 25. But, since the devs won't be entering Early Access in 2024, the full release could take until 2026.
Let's hope for the best!
