Terraria fans, rejoice! A sequel to the open-world masterpiece has been mysteriously teased! It's been over a decade since the game launched, but it's still one of the most popular titles in the sandbox genre. And now it seems like we're finally getting some information about the long-awaited sequel...

Terraria 2 – A New Age Teased By Developer

Twitter user chippygaming spotted an interesting teaser from one of Terraria's creators. In his Twitter bio, the developer of Terraria, redigit added "Terraria 2 – A New Age" as a location.

In response to this strange location change, fellow Terraria developer Whitney "Cenx" Spinx responded with a Doctor Who GIF that reads “Spoilers” and went on to say, "Red is a huge troll. I wouldn't trust him. Or indeed?" She then also changed her Twitter location to "Terraria 2.5 the Final Update". This is the first time we've received any hint about the game from the developers, which could indicate that we're heading towards an announcement.
For those who have no idea what we're talking about, the Terraria sequel has been in development in one form or another for a long time. The second part was originally announced back in 2013, but well, that never really happened. It was said that redigit would be working on Terraria: Overworld, but that didn't go as expected for the developers. The offshoot, which was supposed to contain strategy and role-playing elements, was eventually canceled. After that, redigit went back to work on Terraria and plans for a sequel were revealed in 2019.
It's been very quiet about the title since then. In the meantime, however, some major updates to the original title have been released. And who knows, maybe the next update will really be the last one, which will also usher in a new era for the second part of Terraria.

Until then, why not enjoy the best game of 2022?
