The Last of Us 2 could get a remaster soon, as composer Gustavo Santaolalla accidentally revealed during a new interview.
The Last of Us Part 2 could be getting a new version soon. The controversial sequel to the beloved game that introduced the story of Ellie and Joel surviving in the apocalyptic USA came out in 2020 and so far is only playable on PS4.
However, composer Gustavo Santaolalla said more than he probably should have in a new interview, straight up revealing that a new version of the game is coming soon.
The Last Of Us 2 Remaster Leaked
In an interview with Spanish channel Blender, the composer for both The Last of Us games Gustavo Santaolalla was asked about his short cameo in Part 2. Santaolalla plays a musician in Jackson, the town the game starts in.
He doesn’t do much, but that might change: according to Santaolalla, there will be a new version of the game, where players can actually interact with his in-game character and ask him to play certain songs.
He probably realized that he just leaked massive news and promptly stopped himself before revealing more. So we don’t really know what exactly this “new version” will be (nor when we can expect it to come out), but considering such a significant change in interactivity, it can be assumed that it will at least be a significant enough remaster.Maybe even a remake a la Part 1? That would be pretty crazy, considering that Part 2 is not that old. But you never know with Sony…
