A reliable leaker has revealed, that The Last of Us 3 is currently in development and that it will be Neil Druckmann's next game at Naughty Dog.
After the exciting and controversial ending of The Last of Us Part 2, fans have immediately started dreaming about The Last of Us 3. We haven't heard much of anything about a possible sequel... until now.
A prominent leaker has claimed, that The Last of Us 3 is in development, and that it will be Neil Druckmann's next game for Naughty Dog.
The Last Of Us 3 Is In Production
This leak comes from @ViewerAnon on Twitter, who usually leaks info about movies. Here he delved into video games for once to deliver us a banger. Their information is usually rock solid, but you should still take it with a grain of salt, of course.
The only thing we heard about the third Last of Us so far came from Neil Druckmann, co-creator of The Last of Us also directer for both games in the series, himself. He claimed to already have a story in mind, should they make another game in the franchise. So this is the first claim of the game's actual existence.
If this is true, it would mean that Naughty Dog are currently very busy. They are currently working on a multiplayer spin-off for The Last of Us (which looks like it will be free-to-play). There are also rumors surrounding a new fantasy IP and a game inspired by the film Moonlight.
None of these projects seem to be directed by Druckmann though, from what we heard. That would explain why ViewerAnon claims it will be Druckmann's next game – that doesn't mean, it will be the next game by Naughty Dog period. So if you were hoping to get The Last of Us 3 sooner rather than later... think again. Best to play the waiting game on this one.
