The Last of Us For PC Arriving: Preorder Bonus, Changes, Trailer & More

The release of The Last of Us for PC is only hours away. The TLoU series has been PlayStation exclusive for many years, but will finally make the jump to home computers now. We sum up what you need to know about the game series itself, the remake, the changes to the original and the preorder options. Furthermore, Sony recently released an overview for the minimum and recommended specs to run the game on PC, so you can easily find out whether you can run it.

The Last of Us is finally coming to PC. Exciting! You will probably have heard from the franchise recently due to the success of the The Last of Us TV series, but if it doesn't mean anything to you, allow me to tell you why the Naughty Dog game is worth it.

Think about a gritty, dark movie that makes you cry due to the connection you feel to its characters. Now couple that with gameplay as brilliant and polished as the Uncharted series or Red Dead Redemption 2, along with graphics that overshadow both of those. That's The Last of Us in a nutshell.

Of course, given the post-apocalyptic zombie nature of the game, The Last of Us is highly r-rated and not for the faint of heart: The game has a lot of violent and even some sexual content, but I can confidently say that none of it is gratuitous; it's all exactly the way it needs to be.

There have been lots of rumors about a PC version of The Last of Us for years, so many gamers will probably have cheered when Sony officially confirmed the game to be released as a remake for PC and PS5 during the Summer Game Fest 2022. Sony also published some trailers to promote the upcoming PC release, you can find the latest one further below.

The remake includes many improvements to the original, including better graphics and modernized gameplay. The DLC Left Behind, which tells a prequel story focused on Ellie, will also be included in the remake.

The Last of Us For PC: Release Date

The Last of Us came out on September 2, 2022 for the PlayStation 5. The first confirmed release date for The Last of Us for PC was March 3, 2023, but then Naughty Dog published a Twitter statement that we have to wait a bit longer.

The PC version of The Last of Us is now set to be released on March 28, 2023... at least. Hopefully, these "additional few weeks will allow us [the developers] to ensure this version of The Last of Us lives up to your, and our standards"... which are quite high, considering their past games.

Sony has long confirmed their commitment to bringing most – if not all – of their console-exclusives from PlayStation to PC. The reason is simple: More buyers means more money, and more happy gamers equal more brand-awareness.

There is little benefit these days to keeping games exclusive forever, not with the current consoles being such a rarity, and gamers being more spread out throughout all systems than ever before.
