Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Has Traditional Dungeons Again

Real Zelda dungeons are coming back to Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom... I'm not talking about boring divine beasts that all look the same, nor do I mean 150 puzzle shrines either, no. I'm talking about REAL Zelda dungeons here. Such as the Forest Temple from Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princesses Arbiter’s Grounds. This is also not a speculation article, or a flimsy theory... It has officially and very clearly been revealed by Nintendo themselves.

Just a few weeks ago, I talked about this in an article and explained why I think that traditional dungeons will make a return in Tears of the Kingdom. Well, turns out I was right after all...

In the recent interview "Ask the Developer", Eiji Aonuma, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, Takuhiro Dohita, Satoru Takizawa, and Hajime Wakai talked about the development of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and revealed what had been hidden for so long.

After talking a lot about the sky islands and the progress of their development, Takizawa finally gave us more information about the dungeons in the upcoming title, and it felt like he was talking to my inner soul.

[...] The four Divine Beasts were the dungeons in the last game, and they shared similar designs. This time, the dungeons are huge and each carry their own regional look and feel, just like traditional The Legend of Zelda games. We think they will provide a satisfying challenge for players. ~ Satoru Takizawa

So it is official. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will bring back dungeons that are designed to represent their region. I assume there will be some sort of Fire Dungeon near Death Mountain, a Water Dungeon in the Zora area, another one in the Gerudo Desert and so. much. more.

After all, there are seven Tears to collect in this game, in other words, there must be seven dungeons to explore. You have no idea how badly I've been waiting for this.
