Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Playtime: How Long To Beat TotK
First of all, how long you will need to finish the game really depends on what kind of player you are! Do you want to rush through the main story and be done with it (Why would you play the game then in the first place…)? Or do you like taking your time, exploring the landscape and enjoying the view? Maybe you are an absolute tryhard fan and want to absorb every little detail the game has to offer as well! For two of these three types, we have good news!
Tears of the Kingdom is significantly longer than its predecessor Breath of the Wild! Given all the new possibilities to explore the world, as well as the new islands, you can without a doubt dedicate a good amount of your time to the game.
Looking back at Breath of the Wild, it would take around 25 hours to complete the game without rushing through it. If you went full on explorer mode, it probably took you around 40–50 hours. How long it will end up taking you to beat the game actually depends a lot on your individual skill and on how good you are at solving puzzles.
Are you in need of a quick recap on Breath of the Wild? It will just take 174 seconds to catch up!

In Tears of the Kingdom there is so much more content than in the previous game, that you would probably need the 50 hours of playtime alone just to complete the main story. If you are invested in the game and don't want to miss out on a single side quest or dungeon, you should definitely plan to stick around Hyrule for at least 100 hours!
However, to have an exact idea of how long it will take to play through the game, we have to be patient until it is finally released! If you need more information on the upcoming game, feel free to browse through our Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom section!
