Halo Infinite's Battle Royale might one day come and save the franchise, but until then it looks like bad news for the Chief. We aren't talking about layoffs at 343 this time (thankfully), but the current state of the game might sadly lead that way...
Halo Infinite Now Almost Completely Dead, Less Active Steam Players Than PowerWash Simulator
When Halo Infinite was first released there were over 250,000 concurrent players on Steam alone. But now, a year and half later, the game is struggling to peak at just 5,000 concurrent players a day.
This was recently discussed on the Steam Subreddit, and frankly, the users had very little sympathy for 343 Industries:

The most highly-upvoted response blamed aggressive monetization, while others suggested it was terrible dev support and the lack of maps that killed the game. I'm still quite certain it was the lack of a Battle Royale mode that killed Halo, but whatever the cause, the real question is: Can Halo be saved?
