Finally an update for Alan Wake 2 - and good news for Switch owners. The developer studio Remedy Entertainment has given a status update on the work on Alan Wake 2.
Since the official announcement of Alan Wake in December 2021, it had become very quiet around the game. But now there is finally a sign of life again: The responsible developer studio Remedy Entertainment has given a current status update, which includes a possible presentation of the game this summer.
Will Alan Wake 2 be seen in the summer?
In an extensive video on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the Alan Wake brand, Sam Lake and Matthew Porretta from Remedy Entertainment came forward. They explained that the work on Alan Wake 2 is progressing very well, and a considerable part of it is already playable. However, things don't look so good with regard to a presentation of the game this summer.
"Everything in the development of Alan Wake 2 is going really well. We're deep into production, we have a lot of material, a lot of the title is already playable. But we've been talking a lot over the past few months, and we've made the decision here at Remedy, along with our wonderful publisher Epic Games, that we're not going to show anything big this summer."
This statement doesn't exclude the possibility that we'll see at least a little bit of Alan Wake 2 in the foreseeable future. But we can't expect an extensive presentation with numerous gameplay scenes. The release of the game is still planned for an unknown date in 2023.
Will Alan Wake: Remaster also be released for Nintendo Switch?
In the fall, the remastered version, which has been available for PC and consoles for quite some time, will also be released for Nintendo Switch. This means that you will also be able to shine a flashlight into the darkness on the go. AMC has also acquired the rights to the franchise and will produce a series in collaboration with Remedy.
