Catching fish in V Rising is easier than shooting them in a barrel. You're a vampire lord, obviously fish won't be a problem for you. In order to get all the delicious, nutritious V Rising fish, which will help you craft strong equipment, you will need to learn how to... fish. I know, it sounds stupid. And like I said, it's actually not that difficult! But some mechanics in the game are not always well explained and obvious, so we will step in and show you how to get fish in V Rising!
How To Get Fish in V Rising
To catch fish in V Rising, players need to get the Fishing Pole, a very nifty tool specifically designed for catching fish! Who knew! Of course, this is the obvious part of this whole endeavor. But how might one get a Fishing Pole in this rotten land full of monsters and vampires? You need a recipe to craft it, of course. And how can you get that? Easy! Just follow these steps:
- Defeat Rufus the Foreman
- Craft a Woodworking Bench
- Craft a Fishing Pole
- Find a Fishing Spot
Defeat Rufus the Foreman
Rufus the Foreman is a Level 20 boss located at the Bandit Logging Camp in the Farbane Woods. He shouldn't be too tough, especially if you hit Level 20 as well, but just make sure you are well prepared for the fight. Defeating Ol' Rufus and drinking his blood will grant you the crafting recipes for the Woodworking Bench as well as the Fishing Pole.
Craft a Woodworking Bench
Once you're done with big man Rufus, go to your castle and craft a Woodworking Bench. You will need it to make the Fishing Pole, which you need to fish in V Rising. We've been over this, you know the deal. In order to craft the bench, you will need the following materials:
- 12 Planks
- 60 Animal Hides
Craft a Fishing Pole
Now, use the Woodworking Bench to craft the V Rising Fishing Pole. This item will require some materials that are slightly more difficult to obtain in V Rising. You can see the required materials here:
- 8 Planks
- 4 Copper Ingots
- 4 Coarse Threads
To get Copper Ingots, you can either melt down Copper Ores, which you can find in mines. Not too bad. Coarse Threads unfortunately can't be crafted, so you will need to scavenge for them. You can find Coarse Threads as loot from human enemies, so try your luck in bandit camps.
Find a Fishing Spot
You got your Fishing Pole now. Well done! In order to fish in V Rising, you will need to go to a fishing spot. They are pretty rare, you can recognize them by the bubbles in the water. The fishing spots in V Rising are mostly found in Farbane Woods, Dunley Farmlands and Silverlight Hills. Once you find the right place, equip your beautiful Fishing Pole, left-click on the water, and left-click again once you see a glow to catch a fish.
