Valorant Episode 8 Act 1 will be released on January 8, 10AM PT, bringing a brand new weapon to the game for the first time since its launch in 2020! In this article, you'll find out everything you need to know about the new sniper rifle "The Outlaw."

Everything you need to know about Valorant's new weapon "The Outlaw"

The Outlaw is a brand new, double-barreled sniper rifle that costs 2,400 credits, placing it right between the Marshal and the Operator. The new weapon can quickly fire two shots in succession without zooming out.

The reload time varies depending on how many shots you have fired. Generally, the reload time is slightly longer than other sniper rifles to balance out other attributes.

The Outlaw deals 238 damage to the head, 140 to the body, and 119 to the legs. This means that even a leg shot can kill unarmored opponents, and a body shot can kill light armored opponents. If The Outlaw shoots through a wall, it still deals 125 damage with a body shot, meaning wall shots can kill enemies with light armor.

Why is Riot introducing a new weapon for Valorant now?

Fans were surprised that Riot suddenly decided to introduce a new weapon for Valorant, but they had good reasons. Nick Smith, Game Designer II, and Sal Garozzo, Game Design Architect at Riot, justified their decision as follows:

"We felt that there was a gap in the weapon arsenal between the Marshal and the Operator that could be filled in terms of performance and price, and we wanted more options to support the sniper playstyle. The Outlaw is a mix of elements from the Marshal and the Operator while introducing a few new elements. That's why we wanted to ensure that all sniper rifles have their own strengths and weaknesses."

Valorant players are looking forward to the release of the new weapon and are curious about how The Outlaw will change the gameplay in Episode 8.
