So when a game is released, like... newly released, it's... new, right? That'd make BloodbornePSX a new game, yet, at the same time, BloodbornePSX is a Bloodborne demake. Like, a serious Bloodborne demake. It takes the game back to the polygon beauty and D-pad controls of the PlayStation era, along with the MIDI synth tunes that come with it. Still.... it is a new Bloodborne, and it's available to download now.

What Is BloodbornePSX?

BloodbornePSX was developed as a passion project by Lilith Walther, also known as b0tster. Lilith legit turned this into a full-fledged game, rather than just a short demake demo.

I was inspired by seeing mockup screenshots of demade games in a post that went viral in around 201. Bloodborne was a year or so old at that point, but it was still fresh on my mind as my favorite game and I went to the logical conclusion to 'make it real' I made a prototype that year but stopped, so I could finish my indie game. After that was done I took a short break and started the project over for real in January 2021.

From the Molotovs, to the blood vials, to all the important aspects of Yharnam... it's all in there, plus some new features that are not in the original Bloodborne. Even the gameplay is faithful to the original, and finally the stiff movements of Bloodborne pay off (yeah, I said it). You can lock onto enemies, strafe, dodge... all of it. The only drawback is that you'll have to rely on the good ol' D-Pad to do it.

Where Can I Download BloodbornePSX?

You can download the game via the link in the tweet, or by simply clicking here. The game is free to play, so if you're itching for some more Bloodborne action, this is the only way to tide you over until we finally get some Bloodborne 2 or a Bloodborne remaster– both of which are said to be coming, but also seem to still be ways away
