Fortnite Creative 2.0 is here, and it looks very impressive for what was once just a map editor. The Fortnite community can build almost anything they want now, and the CoD community are begging them to make Verdansk. But is that even possible? And, will they?
Fortnite Creative 2.0 is kind of mind-blowing. Now, we're not talking about something on the level of Unreal Engine 5.2, but it's far more than just a simple map-editor. Fortnite fans can go wild with it, and we're sure thousands of good games will be made thanks to Creative 2.0.
But while Fortnite might be entering a golden-age (coincidentally in the same year that we finally get Counter-Strike 2), Warzone is down bad. Many would say the game is already dead, in fact. But there might still be one last hope: a rebuild of Verdansk in Creative 2.0.
Many of the biggest names in Warzone have begun to talk about this project, and it's being discussed like some kind of desperate Hail Mary to save Call of Duty. But is it even possible to rebuild Verdansk in Fortnite Creative 2.0?
- If you're not yet still enjoying Warzone 2, pick up MW2 for the fastest levelling (but you only really need to bother with the meta).
Could We Ever Get Verdansk In Fortnite Creative 2.0?
Unfortunately, it will never be possible to get Verdansk in Fortnite Creative 2.0; Fortnite Creative limits the size of projects you build (and Verdansk is far too big to fit within current limits), and more importantly, Activision own the rights to Verdansk and it's design. That last part is ultimately the only one that matters, because no one is stupid enough to take on Activision's lawyers.
The fact that you can't just make CoD maps in Fortnite Creative 2.0 was confirmed by the Executive Vice President of Epic Games, Saxs Persson:
People could try and find loopholes, but Epic Games will never support the production of remakes like this. That said, we can see Fortnite Creative games becomes a bit of a Wild West, like Roblox (and before you ask, yes there is a version of CoD in Roblox).
Would you be interested in playing Verdansk on Fortnite? Or do you just want them to improve Call of Duty?
